Service to Veterans

      

Although we are very proud of our record of support, we’re never satisfied with what we’ve done so far.  The need is too great; there is much to be done. 

 

We are asking for your help. WE NEED YOU to step up and get involved. You understand service.  

 

             Join Us and Serve Again! 

Here is a sampling of things we do to serve the Veterans of our community.

  • Donate to veterans in distress.

  • Donate food and cash to the Crawford House (in honor of WWII Medal of Honor recipient, Army POW William Crawford – a member of our Post in 1945).

  • Serve on the Crawford House Board of Directors.

  • Donate to the Ft Carson St. Barbara’s Day Ball.

  • Donate to VFW national Military Service.

  • Donate to the National Home for Children and the Colorado Fisher House Home for Children.

  • Donate to The Home Front Cares.

  • Donate to the Wounded Warrior project.

  • Donate to the Marian House Soup Kitchen.

  • Donate and participate in the All Patient’s Day activities at the Pueblo VA Home.

  • Visit elementary, middle and high schools during Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day events.

  • Provide Americanism programs to several elementary schools throughout the year.

  • Support several area high school JROTC programs.

  • Provide scholarships and certificates to the UCCS ROTC students.

  • Donate time and funds to support to the Southern Colorado Honor Flight.

  • Donate time and funds to our local high schools' Voice of Democracy, and middle schools' Patriot Pen, and Teacher of the Year programs.

  • Support Boy Scout troop 828.

  • Participate in the Buddy Poppy program during Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day to bring in donations for our Veteran’s Relief Fund.

  • Participate in several parades with our parade float and marching with color guard.

  • Provide American Flags on veterans’ gravesites at several cemeteries on Memorial Day.

  • Participate in the annual veterans’ Stand Down Day with donations and manning support.

  • Provide support to the Marine Corps Toys For Tots program.

  • Visit hospitals to cheer our veterans.

  • Drive veteran’s widows to Denver to visit their loved one’s gravesites.

  • Support the Welcome Home program for Ft Carson troops returning from overseas combat tours.
