Monday’s opinion editorial by Lawrence Korb, Alex Rothman and Max Hoffman would have readers believe that the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is misleading America into believing that the Pentagon’s proposals to reform military compensation, retirement and healthcare are bad for the nation.

WINNERS OF PUBLICATIONS CONTEST ANNOUNCED

VFW has announced the winners of the 2012 National Publications Contest. Two non-VFW-affiliated journalism professionals—a local news reporter and copy editor, and an editor for a national magazine—served as judges for the competition. This is designed to guarantee impartiality and objectivity in the judging. To reiterate, VFW staffers play no part in judging the entries.

This year nearly 60 entries were received. Judging was based on navigation, load time, design and overall content. Entries were divided into two separate categories: VFW Departments and VFW Posts/Districts.
