Serve
WWCTP serves the needs of wounded, ill, injured (WII) and transitioning servicemembers by developing policy to ensure every WII servicemember receives the best support possible and every servicemember reintegrating to civilian life is prepared to succeed.

Support
WWCTP aligns wounded warrior initiatives equally across the Department of Defense while meeting the highest standards, and coordinates a smooth hand-off to other federal departments.

Empower
WWCTP empowers WII and transitioning servicemembers and their families by:

  • Providing Recovery Care Coordinators to help WII servicemembers and their families develop and use a Comprehensive Recovery Plan and receive the non-medical support they need to create the lives they want.
  • Restructuring the Disability Evaluation System for an equitable and efficient adjudication of benefits from the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Informing servicemembers, veterans, and families through the National Resource Directory (NRD) and eBenefits websites.
  • Revising the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) to give all servicemembers the tools they need to succeed at home when they have completed their service to our nation.
